Year 11 Curriculum

Students in Year 11 have the option of two programs with various levels of flexibility, expanding on the foundation programs completed in Year 10.

Year 11 students attend our Beaconsfield senior campus.

VCE

Students who study the VCE have the flexibility to choose subjects based on their interests and their career aspirations. Students will study 6 VCE Units each semester, and will continue their Religious Education studies. Students will complete Unit 1 and 2 examinations.

Students who completed an Accelerated Learning Units 1&2 subject in Year 10 may be permitted to accelerate and complete a Units 3&4 subject in Year 11. An application process applies for all students seeking to accelerate.

VCE — Vocational Major (VM)

The VCE Vocational Major is a new senior secondary certificate being introduced in 2023 to replace VCAL. VM is a more structured program that is designed to help students develop work and employability skills.

Students enrolled in VM will complete the following subjects:

  • VM Literacy
  • VM Numeracy
  • VM Personal Development Skills
  • VM Work-Related Skills
  • Religious Education

As part of VM, students will also complete a VET subject of their choice, as well as a weekly structured work placement.

Information on the curriculum and classes can be found in our 2023 Year 10 to 12 Curriculum Information Booklet
