Our Berwick campus is a semi-private, co-educational Catholic secondary school in Melbourne’s south east. Opened in 2003, this campus was established with a vision to provide quality Catholic education and serve the areas of Berwick, Cranbourne, Narre Warren and wider south east Melbourne. The campus motto is pathways for all, reflecting our mission to create a unique path to success and wellbeing for all students.
In 2003, our Berwick campus was established with a vision to provide quality Catholic education and serve the areas of Berwick, Cranbourne, Narre Warren and wider south east Melbourne.
Guided by Catholic school values and a culture of excellence, our staff across all campuses emphasise helping students develop not only their academic potential but also their character. Teachers, staff, and students collaborate to grow personally and become people for others, fostering a supportive learning environment that responds to the needs of modern Catholic students. With a vision to become the best secondary school in the region, our commitment to inspiring creativity, innovation, and personal development extends from our Berwick, Officer and Beaconsfield campuses, preparing students to thrive in life and glorify God in all they do.
In everything, we believe in providing a solid foundation for students. We echo the words of the parable of the sower:
‘’Then he told them many things in parables, saying: ‘A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.’’
— Matthew 13:3-8 (NIV)
The early high school years are crucial for students, and we proactively work to create a Catholic school curriculum that is inclusive and always evolving to best meet students’ needs. Whether in the classroom, at an excursion or on the sports field, our focus remains the same: create a purposeful and deliberate pathway for all students.
Some of the programs offered at our Berwick campus include: Hands On Learning; Individual Support Programs (ISP); SIS Sport; Literacy & Numeracy workshops; Instrumental Music; Debating and Public Speaking; and Horticulture. We also offer extension programs such as Tournament of Minds and da Vinci Decathlon.
We know how important it is to create a learning environment that encourages and motivates students. Our Berwick campus facilities are designed to keep up with the modern requirements and evolving needs of Catholic secondary school students. Facilities are contemporary and are set up to aid creativity, collaboration, and curiosity.
Our College goal is consistent across all campuses: facilitate positive learning experiences and develop students that are guided by faith and a sense of hope. Our ambition is to impact with intent — we want to extend beyond being a Berwick catholic school and help students play a positive role in the world they live in.
St Francis Xavier College aspires to be one of the best schools in south east Melbourne. We hope to ensure that we are a catholic school Berwick, Narre Warren, Cranbourne and Clyde parents can fully trust to create a fulfilling education journey for their children.
