Our College was built in the 1970s in response to an urgent need for Catholic education in southeast Victoria. Today, it continues to operate around a clear purpose: developing students’ competence, conscience and compassion in a faith-driven, supportive environment that extends across three campuses. Opened in 1978, the initial intake of 72 students has blossomed over time into an expansive educational institution that supports several thousand current students.
St Francis Xavier College acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s First People and Traditional Custodians. We are proud and fortunate to live and serve on the land of the Bunurong people. We recognise their intelligence, care and stewardship of this land for many generations. We pay respect to their elders, past, present and emerging. We commit ourselves to moving forward in a spirit of reconciliation.
