Advanced Academic Achievement (AAA) Program for High-Achieving Year 7 Students

At St Francis Xavier College, we recognise that some students are eager to explore ideas more deeply, challenge themselves academically, and extend their learning beyond the standard curriculum.

The Advanced Academic Achievement (AAA) Program has been designed to support these students by providing enriched learning experiences that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.

Beginning in Year 7, the program brings together motivated learners who thrive in challenging academic environments and are ready to extend their knowledge across a range of subjects.

 

What is the AAA Program?

The AAA Program is an academic enrichment program that supports high-achieving students as they develop advanced thinking skills and a deeper understanding of key subject areas.

Through extension activities, collaborative projects, and challenging problem-solving tasks, students are encouraged to:

  • explore ideas in greater depth
  • think critically and creatively
  • engage with complex concepts
  • develop confidence in their academic abilities

The program complements the College’s strong academic curriculum while providing opportunities for students to stretch their thinking and pursue their academic interests.

Who is the AAA Program designed for?

The program is suited to students who demonstrate strong academic ability and a genuine enthusiasm for learning. Students who may benefit from the AAA Program enjoy challenging themselves, ask thoughtful questions, and demonstrate strong motivation and curiosity in their learning.

By bringing together students with similar academic interests, the program also fosters a collaborative learning environment where students can challenge and support one another.

Entry into the AAA Program

Entry into the AAA Program is competitive and based on an academic selection process, which helps identify students who may benefit from the additional challenge and enrichment opportunities the program provides. To enrol in the AAA program, students must have completed the College’s Enrolment process (attended an enrolment interview, offered a position, accepted, and paid the $400 fee) to be eligible.  If this has not been completed, please contact the College Admissions Team.

Testing will be administered by Edutest at 9am on Saturday 1 August at the Beaconsfield Campus, there are no other dates available. The testing fee of $99 is paid directly to Edutest.
