In 2012, St Francis Xavier College responded to the need for quality schools in Officer and the rapidly growing outer south-eastern suburbs like Pakenham, Clyde and Narre Warren, and the western reaches of Gippsland. Our Officer campus is one of many other semi-private co-educational schools in Melbourne providing a Catholic high school experience built around establishing a culture of excellence.
Teachers and staff at our Officer campus are intentional in providing the encouragement and support that students need to thrive and achieve their goals. We believe that the best results are achieved in partnership: students, teachers and other community members are invited to collaborate and create a supportive learning environment. Our commitment is in responding to the needs of modern Catholic students and inspiring them to be creative, innovative and personal.
In everything, we believe in providing a solid foundation for students. We echo the words of the parable of the sower:
‘’Then he told them many things in parables, saying: ‘A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.’’
— Matthew 13:3-8 (NIV)
The early high school years are crucial for students, and we proactively work to create a Catholic school curriculum that is inclusive and always evolving to best meet students’ needs. Whether in the classroom, at an excursion or on the sports field, our focus remains the same: create a purposeful and deliberate pathway for all students.
Some of the programs offered at our Officer campus include: Year 9 electives; Hands-On Learning; Individual Support Programs (ISP); SIS Sport; Literacy & Numeracy workshops; Instrumental Music; Debating and Public Speaking; and Horticulture. We also offer extension programs such as Tournament of Minds and da Vinci Decathlon.
Our Officer campus was designed with the needs of modern students in mind. All of our entrances and exits are fully accessible, making it easy for students, parents and staff to reach the school via their preferred mode of transport. Everything from classroom layouts to the sports field represent our commitment to catering to the needs of contemporary secondary school students.
Our College goal is consistent across all campuses: facilitate positive learning experiences and develop students that are guided by faith and a sense of hope. Our ambition is to impact with intent — we want to extend beyond being a school in Officer and help students play a positive role in the world they live in.
St Francis Xavier College aspires to be one of the best schools in south east Melbourne, serving families from Berwick, Narre Warren, Cranbourne and Clyde, and creating a pathway for all students.

St Francis Xavier College offers a Talk and Tour with each Head of Campus. Tours commence from each Campus’ Reception Office at 9.30am, and we ask that interested parents and families please register to attend.
St Francis Xavier College is aimed to be very well-priced compared to other Melbourne catholic schools and private schools in berwick. Families pay an Education Fee per student, which covers the cost of the Digital Learning Program, incursions, excursions and compulsory camps. Families also pay a Building Development Fund fee per family to assist the College in its building programs. The full breakdown of fees can be found here.
We recommend that families pay via Direct Debit, but families may also pay directly to the college using EFTPOS, credit cards or cheques, and also by using BPay and Centrepay.
