Each year this special date in Australia’s history is commemorated at St Francis Xavier College in several ways. The first being by way of a formal ceremony held in the Hall where all students gather to pay their respects.
Key features of this ceremony are a special address each year, usually delivered by a prominent member of the local RSL and the laying of the wreath by Campus Captains at our memorial site which contains a descendant from the Lone Pine at Gallipoli.
Students of St Francis Xavier also like to represent the College at the local City of Casey Anzac Day Dawn Service on the morning of 25 April. This takes place outside the City of Casey Municipal Offices and students that volunteer to attend this moving and deeply reflective service are joined by staff in a symbolic show of unity and respect.
