Outward Bound is an integral program that allows students to develop resilience, leadership and independence.
The program is a 9-day expedition and is a compulsory component of the Year 9 Curriculum at St Francis Xavier College.
Outward Bound provides the opportunity for students to undertake activities in the wilderness within a safe controlled environment. The experience allows students to be part of an unfamiliar environment and encourages students to set new challenges. Students are encouraged, to set new and higher expectations and levels of achievement for themselves. The students are involved in various activities such as hiking, rafting, abseiling and hard skills throughout the duration of the camp.
