Curriculum Review
Thank you to the many parents who have engaged in the consultation process regarding the Curriculum Review. The following numbers indicate the number of participants involved in the consultation regarding the Draft Recommendations.
The College has considered all feedback and Version 2 of the Draft Recommendations has been published this week. Thank you to the many parents who attended the consultation forum on Monday evening.
I encourage parents/guardians to complete the survey in relation to Version 2 which is being published by email and will be open until 5pm next Wednesday.
The aim of the review is:
To review the College curriculum to make recommendations for improvements aimed to facilitate enhanced student achievement
An overarching theme which flows through the recommendations is the provision of engaging and deliberate pathways for all students. There are indeed many exciting learning opportunities which have the potential to support student achievement.
Thank you again for your support of the consultation process. I trust that parents can see that community voice is reflected in Version 2 of the Draft Recommendations.
Feedback regarding Version 2 of the Draft Recommendations will be considered next week prior to making final recommendations to Vin as College Principal.
Japan Study Tour Bursary
The College is offering a Bursary to cover the costs of one student to attend the Japan Study Tour. The aim is to support a student who may have not been able to attend without this financial support. The Bursary will be means tested by the College Finance Department. Parents/guardians who would like their child to apply for the Bursary are encouraged to discuss this opportunity with their child. Applications are to take the form of a 300 word explanation of how the student believes the study tour would benefit them. The recipient of the Bursar will be expected to commit to studying Japanese through to VCE Units 3 and 4. Applications are to be addressed to Mr Feeney as College Principal. They are to be emailed to jprice@sfx.vic.edu.au.
Blessings for the fortnight ahead!
