Opening of the Officer Music, Drama and Dance Building
Congratulations to all the Officer students who helped lead the ritual of the Opening of the new building in the presence of Bishop Patrick O’Regan. The Officer students were wonderful in their participation and leading of the service. Creative pieces such as music and dance added depth to the celebration. Thanks to Liam Doherty for overseeing this participation of our students. Wurundjeri Elder Uncle Bill Nicholson again impressed our community with his wisdom and generosity in sharing with us the wealth that is aboriginal culture. Uncle Bill lead a smoking ceremony and the Acknowledgement of Land to begin the Opening ceremony.
Year 10 Reflection Day
We look forward to spending a day with our new Year 10 students on Monday in eight House groups locations. The aim of the day is to build relationships between students and their new peers, and with staff, many of whom will be meeting the students for the first time. Parents, please complete the PAM permission for this event if you haven’t done so.
Christmas Hampers
Each year the Care Groups provide a hamper to Vinnies for distribution to the local community. In early December we hope to share over one hundred hampers that our students and staff carefully prepare. Thank you for your generous support of this campaign to ease the burden of Christmas that is a reality in our local community.
Year 12’s meet Bishop Patrick
On Friday our College Captains will spend the day with Bishop Patrick and the student leaders of the seven Catholic secondary schools of the Diocese of Sale. The group attending the Australian Catholic Youth Festival will also meet to prepare for their three days in Perth in early December. Bishop Patrick is looking forward to our student’s participation in this event.
